1200 feet down inside the crater of Marum volcano on Ambrym Island, Vanuatu. As close as humanly possible to the violently boiling lake of lava found at the bottom.

Becoming the first person to ever descend down inside the Darvaza fiery gas crater in the Turkmenistan desert. George led a National Geographic expedition to search for extremophile bacteria amid the flames.
